Wanda Yvonne Nix

Wanda Yvonne Nix, 70, of Christiansburg passed away the morning of August 16, 2025 at her home.

She graduated from Dublin High School and Radford University. Wanda worked for American Airlines for 24 years and Radford University for another 15 years. She was a member of Community Christian Church in Dublin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter E. and Viola Louise Akers; spouse, Terry L. Nix; nephew, Bryan Akers; and sister-in-law, Mary Lynn Akers.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Lauri Nix Thomas (Brett); son, Terry L. Nix II; grandsons, Caleb and Joshua Thomas; brother, Walter L. Akers; brother, C. Maynard Akers (Debbie); and sister, Belinda Akers Aust (Gerry).

The family would like to thank her neighbors in Seneca Springs namely, Becky, Patti, Marie, Leslie and Esther.

A memorial service will be held at Community Christian Church on August 27, 2025 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Bill Neeley officiating.
