Virginia Hylton Roop

Virginia Hylton Roop, 98 of Christiansburg, born on June 18, 1926, passed away August 31, 2024, at Commonwealth Assisted Living in Radford.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Jack B. Roop; son, Roland Roop; and daughter, Judith B. Kress.  She was the last of 10 children of the late Elisha and Daisy Hylton.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Archie, Joshua, and Alvah Hylton, Hattie Howell, Toy Simmons, Ruby Lawrence, Avis Altizer, Ardith Simmons, and Edith Kenley.

Virginia is survived by granddaughters, Angie Nester, Sonya Slusher; grandson, Leslie Slusher; as well as 3 other grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 11-11:30 a.m. at Horne Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Hal Sonafrank officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
