Shirley Ann Linkous

Shirley Ann Linkous, 81, of Blacksburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday July 13, 2026, at Radford Health and Rehab Center of Radford, VA, surrounded by her family.

Shirley was born on April 12, 1945, in Blacksburg. She was the daughter of the late Minor Hess "John" Linkous and Evie Mae Linkous. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bernard "Jack" Gilmore; nieces, Coretha Gilmore Loughridge, Janet Kinzie Hotinger; brother-in-law, Kenneth Kinzie.

Shirley is survived by her friend, Sarah Lancaster; her sister, Velma Gilmore Kinzie; and her brother, C.B. Linkous (Betty); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley worked at Corning and Yokohama for many years until retiring. She also volunteered at Montgomery Regional Hospital which she really enjoyed.

The family wishes to thank ACG hospice of Radford, and Radford Health and Rehab Center, especially Hannah, for taking such good care of her.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00 am in the chapel at Horne Funeral Home. The Rev. Craig Reed will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to your own personal churches in honor of Shirley.
