Sarah Elizabeth Akers

Sarah Elizabeth Corell Akers passed away January 19, 2026, peacefully in her home with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Rosa Corell; sister, Sylvia Hill; brother, George Corell; son, Jonathan Akers; and son-in-law, William Kinder.

Sarah is survived by her husband, James Akers; daughter, Anne Kinder; grandchild, Brittany Syx (Ricky); great-grandchildren, Jazmine, Chloe, Aleigha, Aubree; and friends of the family.

Sarah had a passion for cats and a love of flowers and gardening. She loved researching the genealogy of her family and was invited to write a historical piece in the Montgomery County Museum’s Book of County History.

A Graveside Service will be Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Corell Family Cemetery, Riner, officiated by Rev. Allison Unroe.
