Sandra Jean Deshields Hamrick

Sandra Jean Deshields Hamrick, 87, of Christiansburg passed away on August 16, 2023. She was born in Norfolk to the late Edward and Margaret Deshields. She was a graduate of Radford College. Sandra was a first-grade teacher at Christiansburg Primary School for many years. Sandra is survived by husband, Art Hamrick and his children, A.G (Lisa) and Darrell; sons, Tay Taylor and fiancée, Laura, Steve Taylor, & Craig Taylor and wife, Tracie; brother, Eddie Deshields and wife, JoAnn; grandchildren, Jonathan and wife, Virginia, Marley and Dana; great grandchildren, Layden and Wylie; niece and nephew, Tanya and Glenn. The family would like to thank her diligent helpers, Christy Keener and Kay Price; along with Danielle and Teresa from Good Samaritan Hospice; and the staff at Commonwealth Senior Living. The family had a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the Montgomery County Christmas Store.
