Rosa Holcomb Linkous, born on December 7, 1925 passed away on April 26, 2022 at the age of 96.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Josie Catron Holcomb; husband, Clovis Emanuel Linkous; sisters, Janice Hixon and Lela McGuyer; brother, Alfred Holcomb; and a grandson, Henry G. Linkous.
She is survived by her sons; Harold Leslie Linkous, Clovis Alan Linkous and wife Li-Ching Wang Linkous; grandchildren, James G. Linkous, William G. Linkous and wife Shivani Patel Linkous; great-grandson, Henry Ishan Linkous; and great-granddaughter, Rosa Amara Linkous.
Rosa started out on her grandfather’s farm in Tazewell County; then moved to Christiansburg. She graduated from Christiansburg High School and attended Roanoke College; and worked at the VA Hospital.
She met Clovis Emanuel Linkous and the two were married on December 19, 1949. She and Clovis lived in many places for his work as a career employee of General Electric including: Lynn Massachusetts, Erie Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Schenectady New York and Fort Wayne Indiana.
She was active in church and fine art activities, serving as docent at many museums and art galleries.
The two later moved back home to the Montgomery County area in 1998 to live out their days. They attended Blacksburg Presbyterian Church for many years. She was also a member of the PEO-AU Chapter.
Family would like to extend a special thanks to Kroontje Healthcare Center, where Rosa resided for the last couple of years.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 1-2 pm at Horne Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow in the Horne Funeral Home chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held at Belmont Cemetery in Christiansburg, VA. The family would like to invite friends to a reception immediately afterwards at the fellowship hall of the Hope Valley Church.
