Dublin

Ronald Lynn “JR” Link, 61, of Dublin, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on January 29, 2026, with his wife, son, and daughter by his side.

Born on November 19, 1964, in Riner, Virginia, JR was the son of Dorothy Smith and the late Larry Jackson Link. He was raised in a close-knit family and graduated from Auburn High School in 1983.JR built a respected career in the auto glass industry. He worked for 16 years as a master journeyman at Precision Auto Glass in Christiansburg. In 1995, he and his wife Angela Woody-Link took a leap of faith and opened their own business—Certified Auto Glass in Radford—which they operated together until 2005. His dedication to craftsmanship and customer service left a lasting impression on those he served. A man who thrived on hands-on work and mechanical challenges, JR had a deep passion for small engines. Whether it was tinkering with machines or diving into new projects, he was always busy with something that sparked his curiosity. He also had a love for loud music and fast motorcycles—interests that reflected his spirited personality and zest for life.

JR’s pride was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Angela Woody-Link; his son, Spencer Link; and his daughter, Sloan Link. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Brytin Link, Coltin Link, Camdin Link, and Elisabeth Link. His mother Dorothy Smith and stepfather Steve Smith mourn his passing along with his brothers Donald Link, Terry Smith, and Jay Smith; Uncle Gerald Link; sister-in-law Renee Hair; brother-in-law Samuel Hungate; nephews Tiler Smith, Dustin Smith, and Guy Smith; and his beloved cat Bobo Link.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Jackson Link.

A memorial service to honor JR’s life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 3-5 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home.

He will be remembered for the way he lived life on his own terms—with grit, humor, and heart. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
