Wade, Mildred Holland, 93, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010. She was born on March 11, 1917 in Lenoir County, NC to the late James R. and Annie Rachel Jarman Holland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Douglas Wade.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnne Wade Butterfield and husband Allen of Christiansburg, VA and her son, Hugh Grantley Wade and wife Catherine of Raleigh, NC; granddaughters, Jessie Butterfield Beard and husband Randall of Warrenton, VA and Jennifer Butterfield Cooper and husband Donald of Blacksburg, VA; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Grady and Ruth Kelley both of Kinston, NC; and numerous other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 18, 2010 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home. A graveside funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 1:00 pm in Peninsula Memorial Gardens, Newport News, VA conducted by Father Dennis L. Sossi.
