As a former seamstress and executive secretary at Carter Machinery for many years, she eventually found her greatest joy as a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife , mother and friend. She loved to research genealogy and believed in keeping memories alive. She enjoyed documenting and learning from the history of those who came before her. Spending time with her sisters brought her so much happiness and laughter. She was a talented seamstress and loved to make quilts, cross stitch and create crafts. Mom found so much enjoyment in talking to and meeting people everywhere she went. She shared a kindness and a connection to all people she met and rarely walked away from any conversation without having made a new friend. She was attentive to the needs of those around her and rarely missed an opportunity to reach out to a neighbor in need. Her legacy of kindness is felt throughout the community. Her time was spent volunteering for Meals on Wheels, the American Cancer Society and donating essentials to local shelters. She didn't have a home church but she loved the Lord. She often spoke of being homesick to see all those loved ones waiting for her! Our loss is immeasurable but so is all the love that remains! No words can express how much she is loved and will be forever missed!!
We would like to thank Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows for the wonderful rehab care they provided last year speaking of this time with fond memories. Thank you to the numerous neighbors and friends who came by or called to check in on Mom. There are too many to list but please know your kindess of heart meant the world to Mom!
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Shawsville Lay Ministerial Food Pantry or the American Cancer Society.
