Mark Slusser

Mark Slusser passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, to his Lord and Savior. He was born to James Glennie Slusser and Virginia (Barker) Slusser on May 11, 1950, and raised in Christiansburg, Virginia. He was a 1968 graduate and served active duties in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971.

He survived by his mother “Sally” Virginia Slusser of Virginia, his son Mark Derrick Slusser and Samantha, and their two children, Mark James and Mikenzie, his daughter and caretaker for the past 10 years, Monica Sanford - husband Justin, with their four children, Dakota Schumacher, David Lee, Justin Jr., and Nixon Sanford, all of Texas. He is also survived by Sandra Sims, the mother of his two children, his brother Barry Slusser, and sister, Tammy Falter- husband Bob, and several nieces and nephews of Virginia, and his lifelong brother of the Vietnam War - Herbie Simmons.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, James G. Slusser, and sister, Teresa Shepherd.
