Mark Timothy Collins, a devoted maintenance professional and cherished family man, passed away on April 7, 2026, at Lewis Gale - Salem Hospital. Born on September 23, 1961, in Japan, Mark lived a life marked by dedication, skill, and an enduring love for those around him.
For 17 years, Mark applied his talents and knowledge expertly in maintenance at Polytechnique by Grucci. Known fondly among those who knew him as "A Jack of all Trades Master of none," he took special pride in his understanding of machines and his ability to keep things running smoothly. His personality reflected a thoughtful and diligent nature, and he was deeply passionate about his work.
Outside of his professional life, Mark found joy in simple pleasures. He loved going for truck rides, woodworking, caring for animals, and especially treasured spending quality time with his family, with a particular fondness for his granddaughters. These interests paint a picture of a man who valued both craftsmanship and companionship.
Mark leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss his presence. He is survived by his son, Joey Gusler, and daughter-in-law, Tiffany; his significant other, Winky Addison; his daughter, Jessica Aydlette, and her husband, Josh; his sister, Sandra Stark, along with brother-in-law Gary Stark; his brother Tony Collins and sister-in-law Janice, Daughter Angelina Martin; along with her husband Tony; his cherished granddaughters Lily, Chloe, Zoey, Freya, and . Mark was also loved by several nieces, nephews, and aunts, as well as a special friend, Jimmy McGrady.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Bertie Collins; his wife, Amy Collins; and his sister, Yvonne Bryan. Their memories remain a precious part of his story.
Friends, family, and all who knew Mark are invited to honor his life during a visitation on April 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home & Cremation Service, located at 1300 N Franklin St, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
The family extends special thanks to the AMR Ambulance Service, Christiansburg Police and EMS, Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg, and Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem for their compassionate care and support during Mark’s final days.
Mark Timothy Collins will be remembered with respect and affection for his craftsmanship, his quiet strength, and the warmth he shared with his family and friends.
