Malek Phillip Austin Johnson

Malek Phillip Austin Johnson 2 years of age of Christiansburg, VA passed away on February 19, 2026. He was born on July 2, 2023. He was one of three siblings. He is preceded in death by Grandfathers Johnny Austin and Philip Farrow and Grandmother Elsie Austin and Great Grandmother Betty Brewer. He is survived by Father Trey Austin and Mother Seqoya Johnson, two brothers Levi Johnson and Taevon Austin, Grandmothers Latisha McCarty and Carol Linkous and Great Grandmother Karen Martin, Godmother Iyania Ellis and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Malek was a fighter. He fought so hard to be here, coming into this world 4 months early, having to be incubated in the NICU for 2 months and then monitored for another 2 months before finally coming home on an oxygen tube in his nose. After months of tugging and pulling, he pulled the tube off and never had to put it back on. He was so happy to live his life, so very happy.

A funeral service will be conducted on March 7, 2026 at 12:00 pm from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am.
