Lucille “Ceale” M. Diehl, nee Henschel, 88, a longtime resident of Boalsburg, PA and more recently living in Christiansburg, VA, went to be with the lord on May 9, 2023 following a slow, steady decline in health. She was born and raised in central Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by all eight of her brothers and sisters, along with her loving husband Gerald Diehl and stepson David Diehl. Ceale is survived by daughter Vicki Bright, son Jerry Borger and wife Terry, stepson Roger Diehl and wife Doreen, and stepson David’s wife Susan Diehl. Also, grandchildren Brett Ritter and wife Elizabeth, Leah Malmevik and her husband John, Matt Borger and his wife Michelle, Emily Diehl, and Evan Diehl and his wife Skylar; great-grandchildren Jade and Gabriel Patton, Johnathon Malmevik, Hunter and Lilith Borger, Lizzie and Gavin Hawkins, Cooper and Lydia Diehl, and a host of extended family.
Ceale enjoyed boating and water skiing (in her younger years), camping, RV traveling, and vacations at the beach with family. She was a great cook, a devoted wife, and loving mother whose guidance, laughter and quick wit will be keenly missed.
Those of us who loved Ceale/Mom/Grandma are sad, of course, at her passing, but are mindful of her desire that we keep our mourning to a minimum and know that she had a wonderful, happy life and was ready to go join her “Hubby” in heaven.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in Boalsburg, PA.
