Loretta Grubb

Loretta Stewart Grubb, 83, of Christiansburg, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 26, 2025.

Loretta was born on July 19, 1941 in Montgomery County, VA to Clyde Wade Stewart and Lola Bond Stewart. On November 22, 1963, she married the love of her life Stephen Emory Grubb and made their home on the Grubb Farm in Christiansburg, VA.

Loretta was preceded in death by her Mother, Lola Bond Stewart; Father, Clyde Wade Stewart; her husband, Stephen Emory Grubb;: Brother Raymond Sylvester Stewart; Brother George Jackson Stewart, Father-in-Law George Edward Grubb; and Mother-in-Law Esther Wilkerson Grubb.

She is survived by her Daughter, Teresa Grubb Chapman; Son-in-Law, Joseph Edward Chapman; Sister, Vickie Stewart Taylor (Charlie David); Sister, Brenda Stewart Simmons (Noah), Sister, Paulette Stewart Custer (Joe): Brother, Paul Wade Stewart (Donna); Sister-in-Law, Mary Jewel Stewart; Sister-in-Law, Margaret Stewart Schmidt; Sister-in-Law, Grace Grubb Nunley (Kelley); and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins.

Loretta loved Her Lord, her family, and her friends. She loved going to and working in the Church. She lived her life for the Lord and her and her husband raised their daughter in a Christian home with Christian values. She has fulfilled her dream of 2 Timothy 4:6-8 (KJV) 6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. She was very appreciative of all the support, love, kindness, and prayers during her life and her final days.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 29 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with Rev. Porter Riner, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
