Lillie Mae Howard, 85, of Elliston, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 9th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A woman of unwavering faith, she has now achieved her greatest desire, to be joyously reunited with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born on May 22, 1940, in Copper Hill, Virginia, to Jake and Clytie (Ora) Hurst, Lillie was a dedicated Christian from a young age. Her life was a testament to her deep faith, which she actively shared through years of playing the piano in her church, spreading the gosple through song ,as a member of The Master's Trio, sharing the word of God to lead others to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior, quiet acts of kindness, unconditional love, and a joyful, gentle spirit.
Lillie was employed by Montgomery County Public Schools as a school bus driver er for over 20 years.
Lillie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother ("Granny"), and great-grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Marvin Leotis Howard (91), and their three children: Wanda (Sam) Boone, Marvin (Anita) Howard, and Wendy Helms.
She was the cherished Granny to Jeremy Howard, Joshua (Staci) Boone, Ashley Howard Hall, Whitney (Seth) Neil, Daniel Howard, and Lauren (Kyle) Davis.
Lillie also leaves behind 11 precious great-grandchildren.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents and eight of her nine siblings, and her son-in-law, Larry Helms.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held.
