Larry W Sutherland

Larry W. Sutherland, 75, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026 in Christiansburg Va.

Born on June 6, 1951, Larry was the son of the late Helen Sutherland and Clifford “Blackie” Sutherland.

Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy in life was his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donah Sutherland of 54 years. his cherished daughters, Missy Sutherland, who passed away on December 15, 2010, and Tracie Sutherland, who passed away on January 8, 2017. Though he endured tremendous loss throughout his life, his love and dedication to his family never wavered.

Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Kathryn (Mason) DeCosta and Jimmy Wilson; his treasured great-grandchildren, Roman DeCosta and Brodyn DeCosta. Son-in-Law Jim Wilson. He is also survived by family members who held a very special place in his heart and were always there for him: his beloved niece, Angie & Mark ; his sister-in-law, Norma (Michael) Bamber; and Larry (Hope) Roberts, all of whom shared a close and loving bond with him.

Larry will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his kind heart, and the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply, and he will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory and celebrate a life well lived.
