Kenneth Wayne Ramsey

Kenneth Wayne Ramsey, 74 of Blacksburg, went home to be with the Lord November 5, 2025.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Adkins Ramsey; infant daughter, Angela Michael Ramsey; parents, Leon Kenneth and Edith Anora Ramsey; sisters, Freda Layne Ramsey Dean (his twin sister) and Betty Ramsey Allen; and his brother, Michael Leon Ramsey.

Kenneth is survived by his son, Kevin Ramsey of Blacksburg; daughter, Karen Williams (David); grandson, Kolton Williams all of Shawsville; sister Brenda Ramsey Spradlin (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law, Jimmy Dean of Dublin; several wonderful nephews; and other extended family members in Bland.

Kenneth served as an aircraft mechanic in Thailand during Vietnam in the Air Force.  He was a police officer for Radford City, a security officer at RAAP (the Arsenal), and IT for Allstate and Echostar.  He served as Associate Pastor at the Church of the Rock, Radford.  Kenneth was an avid Hokie fan and loved good meals and Nascar; but no one could ever meet his mother's cooking standards.  He was very strong in his faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was very committed to making sure his family followed Christ.  He traveled and sang with Mom in the early years of ministering.

The family would like to thank all the medical staff at Lewis Gale Montgomery Regional, Sarah at Good Samaritan Hospice and Nicole, a palliative nurse at Lewis Gale Montgomery, who was a light in the room.  We would also like to thank Horne Funeral Home for their unwavering compassion, as well as Fresenius Kidney Care in Blacksburg for years of care and dedication.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later time and posted with this obituary when scheduled.
