Hubert Sweeney

Hubert Sweeney of English, WV went to be with Jesus on October 8, 2025. He preached for over 50 years and pastored several churches in the area. He was a retired coal miner. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben & Sallie Sweeney with whom he grew up with alongside his brothers and sisters. Hubert is survived by his wife, Mabel Louise Sweeney; daughters, Theresa Lester, Edna Gail Hines & husband, Jay, and Lorine Hawks & husband, David; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Atwel Mountain Church in Bradshaw, WV. Funeral services will follow at the church with Rev. Roger Hale Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Atwell Mountain Church Cemetery.
