Hazel Kincaid Slusher

Hazel Kincaid Slusher, born on December 1, 1936, to Buster and Gaye Kincaid entered her heavenly home on March 6, 2024. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Kenneth L. Slusher; sisters, Juanita Gilmore, Christine Wirt, Lorretta Harris, Janie Trussell, Eloise Kitts; and brother, Bobby Kincaid.

Left to cherish her memory is daughter, Melissa Bishop; grandsons, Jonathan and Matthew Bishop of Charlotte, NC; sister, Betty Hensdill of Radford; and brother, Johnny Kincaid of Blacksburg.

Hazel had a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ and lovingly passed it on to those around her. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family and reading what she called “adventure stories.” She also loved her home church, New Hope Church of God and Pastor Michael Bond. Visitation with friends and family will be on Wednesday March 13, 2024 from 12-1 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home with funeral service starting at 1:00PM in the Chapel, with Pastor Michael Bond officiating.  Interment will follow at the Southwestern Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery, Dublin VA.
