Eunice Elizabeth Gearhart Bond

Eunice Elizabeth Gearhart Bond, of Christiansburg, VA went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2023. Eunice was a servant of God, devoted wife, loving mother, Grandma, and “Sweetie”. She was born on July 7, 1933 to the late Russell and Nanola (McGinnis) Gearhart. Eunice retired from Montgomery County Public Schools and was a devoted member of Oak Grove Church. She loved flower gardening and picnics with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Lee Bond Jr., her sister, Nancy Gearhart Flinchum, and son-in-law, James Alwin Wimmer.
Eunice is survived by her children, Kaye Bond, Joy Wimmer, and Wendell (Jamie) Bond; her grandchildren, James “Chris” (Shay) Adkins, Danielle Wimmer, Brittany Wimmer, Wesley (Ashley) Bond, Winston Bond, Abbigail Bond and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Eugene “Pete” Flinchum; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sheffer; and sister-in-law Geraldine Dider.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm at Horne Funeral Home, 1300 N. Franklin Street Christiansburg, VA 24073. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 1pm, at Horne Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
