Edna Dickerson Sheppard

Edna Sheppard, of Salem, formerly of Check, went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2014.

Edna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She retired from Shawsville Elementary as cafeteria manager for many years. She was very selfless and was a true description of a Proverbs 31 woman.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Lee Sheppard; and mother and father, Clarence and Elsie Dickerson. Surviving are daughter, Frances Carr of Salem; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Lisa Sheppard of Check and Ricky and Betty Sheppard of Elliston; grandchildren, Megan and Amber Carr of Salem, and Ricky Sheppard, Jr. and Jason Dudley of Elliston; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Hampton Vest of Check; and brother and sister-in-law, David and Opal Dickerson of Nathalie, VA.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, from 12-2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Chapel, with interment to follow in Piedmont Cemetery, Shawsville.
