Earnestine Slusher Spencer, 83 of Christiansburg, passed away June 26, 2025. She was born on November 2, 1941, to the late Velmer and Mary Bell Slusher. Also preceding her in death were her beloved husband of 59 years, Junior Spencer; sisters, Frances Keith, Doris Kitts, Lucille Bolding, Ida Mae Moses; and brother, Kenneth Slusher.
Earnestine is survived by her sister, Pauline Caldwell; brothers, James Slusher, Carl Slusher, and Mike Slusher; nieces and nephews, Harold Spencer (Ruby), Dennis Woolwine (JoAnn), Melissa Bishop, Jonathan Bishop, Matthew Bishop, Jeff Caldwell; Stephen Slusher, Eric Akers (Cara), Joshua Akers (Chastity), Angie Crowl, Carla Reed, Burman ‘Skip’ Akers, Mary Ann Bowen (Phillip), Shelley Butler (Michael), Donna Roberts (Eddie), Jody Kitts (Tracy). She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Luther Spencer (Willa Mae), John ‘Johnny’ Spencer (Linda); and sisters-in-law, Linda Henderson (Thurman), Nancy Linkous, Betty Clower, Martha Sefcik.
Earnestine attended New Hope Church of God and loved her church family there. She was manager of My Daily Bread for several years and also worked at Poly-Scientific.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 12 to 1 p.m. at New Hope Church of God. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin.
The family would like to thank Carilion Hospice nurses Missy, Rebekkah, and Marisa for their care of Earnestine.
