Donald Gray “Donnie” Hines, 72, of Radford, VA passed away August 20, 2026. Donnie was born February 11, 1954 and was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Yates Hines, parents, Lewis Gray and Bettye Epperly, brother, Kent Hines and sister, Sheryl Duncan.

He is survived by his sons, Brad D. Hines and William G. Hines, granddaughters, Malinda Hines and Aliza Grace Hines; brothers, Jay Hines (Gail), Mark Hines (Cathy) and Thomas Weeks; sisters, Amy Hines Cole (Brian) and Jennifer Hines Duncan; fiancé, Leona Turner; and a host of other family and friends.

Donnie worked at Burlington Industries and later as a bus driver for Pulaski County Public Schools where he especially enjoyed driving the activity bus for the Special Olympica. He attended Bain Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, annually sold so many tickets for the Snowville Fire Department BBQ Dinner and was a board member of the Snowville Ruritans. He loved woodworking, riding his motorcycle, farming, flowers and generally being outside. He could often be seen helping people in his neighborhood mowing grass or plowing snow.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Horne Funeral Home with TJ Cox and Bruce Hagey officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
