David "Buddy" Junior McGuire, 79, of Christiansburg left this life and entered into the arms of Jesus on December 16, 2025 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife Joyce L. McGuire; sons Jay M. McGuire (Shelia), Glen M. McGuire (Pam), Jordan B. McGuire; grandchildren Garrett L. McGuire, Kayla B. McGuire, Seth D. McGuire, Caitlin E. McGuire; sisters Geraline Harris, Bonnie Sumner (Jackie); special cousin Bobby McGuire; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents David B. McGuire and Josephine Stanley McGuire; sister Patricia Brooks.

He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era and retired from Volvo with 25 years of service.

During his life he loved riding motorcycles, restoring and driving his dune buggy, and spending time with his family. David especially loved sharing his faith in Jesus Christ and leading others to their own salvation.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22nd from 12pm-1pm at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will be at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
