Christie ‘Sissy’ Adkins, 51 of Shawsville, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of family.
Christie was preceded in death by her father, Carl Thomas Perry of Shawsville.
Christie is survived by her loving husband and soulmate, Larry Adkins; her daughter, Rachel Oliver; son, Michael Kai Adkins; step-sons, Paul, Matthew, and Isaiah Adkins; and her loving mother, Connie Perry of Shawsville. She will also be remembered by her brother, Thomas E. Perry and his wife, Lena Perry of Shawsville; sister, Carla Perry of Riner; as well as nieces and nephews that she loved as her own, C. T. Perry, Shelby Perry, Tangie Perry, Seth Perry, Ciera Hungate, Shianne Hungate, Lacey Caldwell, and Landyn Perry.
Christie was a truly special lady, a woman’s woman, and keeper of our secrets. She was loved by all that knew her and some she didn’t know.
Christie took all of her titles seriously. Wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and of course, supervisor to her Moog family.
On December 18, 2024, Christie had what we thought was a pretty common procedure but turned into a four-month long battle that would change all of our lives and our views but most of all hers, and now as we sit missing her, we realize it was a blessing. She found peace in life without the noise, but most of all she sought a relationship with God. And because of that we know tonight she is walking with Jesus.
Christie was a treasure – words cannot express our loss but the angel we gained is one for the books.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. at New Hope Church of God, with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11 a.m.
