Chester Warren
Parsons
December 26, 1946 – March 25, 2026
Chester “Chet” Warren Parsons, 79, of New Castle, VA, a faithful servant of Christ, passed into the arms of his Savior on March 25, 2026. He lived a life defined by the words of Timothy: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
Chet was a dedicated family man, leaving behind his loving spouse of over 57 years, Charlotte Fellers Parsons; 2 daughters, Donna Parsons and Robin Parsons Hammond (Walter “Wally”). He is also survived by his 2 sisters, Virginia Parsons Kinna and Esther Parsons Reynolds; along with multiple nieces and nephews and his devoted dog Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Daniel Parsons and wife Welda, 2 brother-in-laws Austin “Ken” Kinna and James “Jimmy” Reynolds, and niece Brenda Kinna Wolfe.
Born on December 26, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Edgar and Alice Parsons, Chet was known from a young age for his strength, dedication, and work ethic. One example of this dedication is the way he committed his heart to coaching and playing softball in the church league. After graduating from Richard Montgomery High School, Chet completed carpenter’s apprentice school and then enlisted as a reservist in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1967 to 1973. As a proud Marine, he carried the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his life, attaining the rank of USMC Reserve Sergeant (E-5).
Following his military service, Chet continued a life of service by joining the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland. When he wasn’t in uniform, Chet was a dedicated Master Carpenter for over 40 years, retiring from Gallaudet University after 15 years. After retirement, Chet and his wife moved to Smith Mountain Lake to live out his dream before living his final days in New Castle, Virginia.
"Well done, good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of your Lord." (Matthew 25:23)
