Charles Wayne 'Pappy' Whitlock

Charles Wayne 'Pappy' Whitlock, 82 of Riner, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Otho Whitlock and Florence Whitlock.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia H. Whitlock; children, Teresa W. Thompson (Donnie), Donald W. Whitlock, Dale E. Whitlock, Amy K. Caldwell (Rob), Alex Mills; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.  Also left to cherish his memory are siblings, Pete Whitlock, Bob Whitlock (Linda), Anita Duncan; and a host of other family and friends.
Charles was passionate about camping and fishing.  He was a member of the Blue Ridge Winnies Club and the National Campers and Hikers Association.  He was a tool and die machinist who worked at several places around the area.
Visitation will be Monday, March 25, 2024, from 1-2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel.  Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
