Charles Edward Syres

Charles "Charley" Syres, age 86, of Pilot Virginia was called home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2025. Charles was not alone as he entered God's kingdom, his son Greg was by his side. Charles was born in rock, WV on January 22nd, 1939, to the late Beulah Zell Vance Syres and Charley Clifton Syres. Charles is preceded in death by his brother Roy, and his sisters Thelma, Lillian "Belle", Christine, and Peggy.

Charles is survived by his only son Gregory Syres and his brother Mason "Johnny" Syres and his wife Mary Ellen. Survivors also include nieces Tina and Kim, along with nephews Rick, Jerry, Brian, Anthony, and Chris.

Charles was not only a loving son and brother, but he was also an exceptionally devoted father to his son Gregory for over 54 years. Charles enjoyed his weekend dinners with Greg and liked going for drives around the countryside. Charles was a dad who was, and still is, very much loved, admired, and respected by his son.

Charles worked as an electrical inspector at the former National Electric Coil in Bluefield, WV. In addition, Charles was also a school bus driver for the Mercer County Board of Education in Princeton, WV. Charles spent the majority of his life in the Princeton area until moving to Virginia to be closer to his son Greg. Charles was well known for his honesty, integrity, and having a strong desire to do only what is right.

God has welcomed a very special man into Heaven who left behind many cherished memories. Charles will forever be loved and missed beyond measure.
