Brenda Brown Givens

Our much-beloved mother Brenda Brown Givens, born on June 28, 1939, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 3, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Banner Baxter Brown, Sr. and Della Willis Brown; and her brother BB Brown; as well as her husband, Hugh Peck Givens, Jr. the son of Hugh Peck Givens, Sr. and Lula Porterfield Givens and brother of Patricia Givens Johnson (Walter).

Left behind are Brenda and Peck’s children, Lisa (Bill), Becky, Anne (Molly), and Ben as well as four grandchildren, Becky’s children, Clare, Ellen (Marcel), and Lisa’s children, Julian and Dante; and two great grandchildren, Marlee, Zoey, and Nellie, and niece and nephews, Walter Johnson, Buster Brown, Bruce Brown, David Pierpont and Blanton Rowan.

Brenda and Peck met in third grade and were married for 65 years. They will be missed more than words can express.

There will be a private graveside service in Christiansburg, Va.
