Barry Kevin Akers

Barry Kevin Akers 'BEAR', 62, of Christiansburg passed away August 20, 2018. He was born on April 30, 1956 to the late Bob & Frankie Akers. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carmen Akers. He is survived by one daughter, Kaitlin Akers; spouse, Amy Hutcheson Akers; 3 stepsons, Jessie Hutcheson (Ashley), Joshua Trump (Kayla) and Preston Sheppard; and stepgrandson, Reed. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 24 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Horne Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
