THOMPSON, BARBARA JEAN HIXON, age 71, of Smyth County, VA, died Thursday, June 29, 2006 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA.
She was born, August 11, 1934 in Montgomery County, VA the daughter of the late William H. and Mackie Hixon.
She is survived by her husband, Edward A. Thompson, several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 1, in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, conducted by Dr. Thomas Harvey. The family will receive friends at the cemetery, before the service. Arrangements are being handled by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, VA
