Barbara Lee Carpenter, 55, of Christiansburg, passed away July 11, 2014, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore & Viola Pomeroy; first husband, Samuel Burton, Jr.; second husband, Dewey Carpenter; brother, George Pomeroy; and sister, Linda Dean.
Barbara is survived by her son, Richard Burton; daughter, Teresa Burton Blevins; grandchildren, Lucas Westmoreland, Phillip Blevins and Alex Blevins; special niece, Lisa Dean; companion, Nick Mullins; brothers, Jim Wilson and Theodore Pomeroy Jr; sister, Patricia Stewart; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 14, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Horne Funeral Home to offset expenses.
