ADKINS, Barbara Leona, age 80, of Christiansburg passed away Thursday, August 12, 2004 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Creed Fraizer and Willie Ethel Roop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett L. Adkins, a son, Toney C. Adkins, a sister, Ethel Hare and a brother, Fraizer (Bud) Roop.
She is survived by her children, Carroll, Wayne and Eddie Adkins and Jacqueline Loar; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Charlie Adkins; brothers and sisters-in-law, Junice and Elizabeth Roop, Joseph and Ruth Roop, Bob and Bernice Roop, John and Jill Roop; sister-in-law, Beulah Roop; eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15 at The Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewey Weaver, Jr. and Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
