Andrew Johnston Porter

Andrew Johnston Porter, age 80 of Christiansburg passed away on November 17, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nellie Porter; brother, “Butch”.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Kay; children, Donna (Richard), John (Hollie), Brian (Kate), and Michael; grandchildren, Austin, Jenna (Jose`), Brock (Kristen), Paige, Bree and Addie; great grandchildren, Lottie, Violet, Blakley, Tanner, Isabella, and Tatum; along with many other cherished in-laws, relatives and friends.

Andy sold church furniture and related products for over 42 years in Virginia and West Virginia. His favorite hobby was wood working. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play. He loved to watch the Washington Commanders, Atlanta Braves, and Virginia Tech.

He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the Army reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel.

The family would like to thank the ICU staff and physicians at Lewis Gale Montgomery. Your kindness and sincerity meant so much to the family. Thank you also to the first responders for their excellent treatment and care.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 23 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Crowgey officiating.
