William Michael Jackson (Bill), 68, of Christiansburg, crossed the finish line to be with the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses and Ettis Jackson; his sister, Joan Maxwell; and great-grandson, Jaxsen Chipman.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Jackson of Christiansburg; daughters, Katrina Albert of Christiansburg and Pam Johnson of Princeton, WV; eight grandchildren, Shane, Eric, Brittany, Tiffany and Troy of Christiansburg; and Nichole, Brad and Daniel of Princeton, WV; and two great-grandchildren, Hayleigh and Abigail; sisters, Fern Lowe, Geneva Harman, Bonnie Sue Hughes; and brothers, Fred Jackson and John Jackson; plus many close friends and relatives.
He was a proud employee of the City of Radford for 31 years. He also was a drag racer – racing was his love and passion for 30 years.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, from 5-7 at the Horne Funeral Home & Crematory, with a memorial service following at 7 pm in the Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Fuller and Rev. Eddie Roberts officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106-A, Roanoke, VA 24018.
