William Garnand

GARNAND, WILLIAM WAYNE, age 57, of Christiansburg, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2006.

A US Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, he was a member of the Dublin Lion's Club, the Pulaski Church of God, where he sang in the sanctuary choir, and was a member of the Pulaski Relay for Life Team. He was a thirty year employee of the Volvo New River Valley Truck Plant. The son of the late James Roy and Willie Evans Garnand, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Morris, and brothers, Robert and Freddie Garnand.

He is survived by his wife Vivian Frye Garnand; daughter, Becki Hess Wildenberger and husband, Paul; grandson, Conner Wildenberger; granddaughter, Elaina Wildenberger all of Roanoke; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald & Pat Garnand, Pueblo, CO, Mac & Ellen Garnand, Riner, VA, Henry Garnand, Christiansburg, Jimmy & Pat Garnand,Marion, VA, Arlene Garnand, Vinton, VA, Debbie Garnand, Christiansburg, VA, Dianne Frye, Peterstown, WV, and Kathy Frye, Radford, VA; sister Dorothy Sautia, Virginia Beach, VA; brothers-in-law, Scott Frye, Radford, VA, Joe Frye, Peterstown, WV; his mother-in-law, Lola Frye, Pulaski, VA.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Monday evening at the Pulaski Church of God, 1621 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski, VA. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 28th, in the Pulaski Church of God conducted by Rev. Jerry Collins. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Hospice of your choice or the Wake Forest, North Carolina Baptist Hospital Cancer Center. The Garnand family is being served by Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg, VA (382-2612).
