William 'Billy' Gerald Wright

William Gerald ‘Billy’ Wright, 78, of Shawsville, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014, with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer.
Billy served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1961.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred L. Wright. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Ruby S. Wright; sons, Kelvin ‘Butch’ Wright and Melvin Wright and Sadie McGuire; daughter, Doris Dickerson and husband Mike; grandchildren, Stephen, Melanie, Nikki, Cody, Shannon, and Alan; great-grandchildren, Haylie, Lilly, and Kylee, whom were the joy of his life. He also leaves behind his mother, Mary B. Wright of Radford; sisters, Jackie Sutphin and Shirley LaRue; as well as numerous family, friends, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 1 p.m. in the Chapel, with Pastor Ed Watkins and Rev. Harry Leland officiating. Interment will follow in Den Hill Cemetery, Christiansburg.
