AKERS, WILLIAM H., JR. “BILL”, age 77, of Elliston passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.
A long time devoted employee of Big Spring Mill, Elliston. The son of the late William H., Sr. and Lula P. Akers he was also preceded in death by a son, Howard Taylor and a brother, Marvin “Ache” Akers and a nephew, Buddy Jones.
Very loved by everyone, he is survived by his fiancé, Christine R. Taylor; daughters, Darlene Peoples, Marilyn R. Taylor; grandchildren, Machelle Taylor, Karen Dooley, Jeremy Akers, Kathy Jarrell, Chris Jarrell and Oscar Jarrell; eight great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Beulah Akers; a uncle Fred Pelton, a aunt, Milda Pelton and several nieces & nephews.
The family would like to extend to friends and family a very special thank you. He will be truly missed and will always be in our hearts.
The body will be placed in the Elliston Church of God Tuesday, where, the family will receive friends from 5 until 8 Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, in the Elliston Church of God with Pastor Wayne Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Den Hill Cemetery, Shawsville, VA.
