Walter Lucas

LUCAS, WALTER HARVEY, SR., age 64, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2009 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. The son of the late Walter H. and Minnie D. Lucas he was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

He was a retired supervisor at Federal Mogul in Blacksburg with over thirty four years of service. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Jean C. Lucas; sons, Walter Harvey, Jr. and wife, Janifer, Eggleston, Brian S. and wife Tracy M. Lucas, Christiansburg; grandchildren, B.J. Hendricks, Kaila Hendricks, Brittany Hendricks, Aidan Lucas, Blake Spangler, Loren Lucas and Jocelyn Lucas. Sisters, Lorraine Beckner, GA, Mary Wheeler, Narrows, Armenta Hedgcock, Juanita Hawks, both of NC, Lillian Overstreet, Salem and Beverly Young, Christiansburg; brothers, Jerry Lucas, Blacksburg, Gary Lucas, Arizona and Donnie Lucas, Christiansburg; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9 until 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec 24th at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec 24, in the Horne Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Rador Vaden and Tony Johnson. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
