Walter Helms

HELMS, WALTER P., age 72 of Shawsville, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 6, 2004. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Joan Creasey Helms; sons, Larry D. Helms, Shawsville and Robbie Helms of Riner; daughter and son-in-law, Pattie and Ronald Clark of Charlotte, NC.
He is blessed with eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Anne Helms; brother-in-law, Russell Creasey and wife, Gail; also two daughters-in-law, Pamela Helms and Toni Helms.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, twin grandsons, Matthew and Mitchell Helms and his mother and father, Edith and Elbert Helms. He was also blessed by many other family and friends, "May He Watch Over Us All".
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, June 7 at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Dusty Etter and Rev. Ellis Meredith. Interment will follow in the Creasey Family Cemetery, Shawsville with military graveside rites by VFW Post 1184, Pulaski, VA.
