W. Alan Miles, 58, of Christiansburg, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sheila Miles; 3 daughters, Christine, Reagan and Monica; his mother, Claudine Miles; his brother, David Anthony (Tony) Miles & wife, Debbie; their children, Cody-Alan and Sarah-Beth; numerous critters and his extended family at the Arsenal.
Alan was born on May 7, 1953 in Christiansburg, and was a lifelong resident. He worked at Radford Army Ammunition Plant for 29 years.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 16, 2012, from 4-6:30 pm at the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren, with the memorial service to follow at 6:30. Rev. Don Peters will officiate the service.
Alan will be missed for his sense of humor and endearing stubbornness. “Google on, my Friend.”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Christiansburg Volunteer Fire Department, 110 Depot Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073; or to Winterfrost Farm’s Ride-A-Rescue Program, 3390 Roanoke Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
