Vivian Virginia Boliek Moeser

Vivian Virginia Boliek Moeser passed away on January 7, 2015, at Kroontje Health Care Centers in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Born in Hickory, North Carolina on January 29, 1915, Virginia moved to Huntington, West Virginia with her family when she was two years old. For many years, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Huntington. A graduate of Huntington High School, she received a bachelor’s degree in education from Marshall College (now Marshall University) in May 1936.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie Cline Boliek and Sidney G. Boliek; her brothers, Cecil, Gordon, and Paul Boliek; and a sister, Gladys Boliek Woolum. Virginia was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Oscar F. Moeser.
Survivors include her son, Charles O. Moeser and wife, Helen of Pinehurst, North Carolina; and daughter, Gloria Noll and husband, Jim of Christiansburg, Virginia. Survivors also include seven grandchildren, Laura Kramer and husband, Scott, David Moeser and wife, Lola all of Columbus, Ohio, Michael Noll and wife, Diane of Gainesville, Georgia, Donna Neel and husband, Barry of Bluefield, Virginia, Daniel Moeser of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Matthew Moeser of Durham, North Carolina, and David Noll of Denver, Colorado; and eight great-grandchildren, William, Allie, and Stephanie Kramer, Reese Moeser, Kimberly Neel, and Joshua, Aaron, and Stephen Noll.
Her lifelong love of and devotion to children was demonstrated in her professional life. Virginia worked for nine years in the newborn nursery at St. Mary’s Hospital. At age 50, she began a 20 year career as a teacher of multi handicapped children at Highlawn Elementary School. During that time, she took many graduate level courses at Marshall.
She moved to Virginia in May 2012, to be near her daughter, Gloria Noll.
Interment will be held at a later date in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, West Virginia. Memorial contributions may be made to her favorite charity, Huntington City Mission, 624 Tenth Street, Huntington, West Virginia 27501, or to Warm Hearth Foundation, 2603 Warm Hearth Drive, Blacksburg, Virginia 24060.
