REED, THURMAN, age 80, of Shawsville, VA passed away March 17, 2005 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Reed and Berta May Ratliff. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Helen Reed of Shawsville; children, Kathy Slate and husband, Kermit of Shawsville, Judy Taylor and husband, Bobby of South Carolina, Waymond Reed and wife, Donna of Shawsville, Mike Reed and Teresa Mills of Shawsville; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 19, at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 20th in the Horne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The Reed family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg (382-2612).
