Stump, Thomas Burton, 86, of Shawsville, VA, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elliot Stump and Lizzie Perdue Stump; wife, Maybelle Ratliff Stump; his son, Michael Stump; sisters, Gracie Carter and Thelma Crouch.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas Warren Stump, of Lynchburg, VA, Tracy Stump and his wife, Kim Stump, of Moneta, VA; daughters, Brenda Montgomery and husband, Mark, of Floyd, VA and Dorothy Collins and husband, Jerry, of Christiansburg, VA; grandchildren, Wesley, Warren, Austin, Brandon, and Dustin; niece, Jane Coles, of Madison Heights; and his good friend, Bill Ryan, of Shawsville, VA.
The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m., Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Koger officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Julia Hemphill and the staff at Carilion Clinic-Shawsville, and the staff at Skyline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Floyd, VA for all the care they had given to him.
