Thelma Hutchison

Thelma Dowdy Hutchison, 82, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on August 12, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Haven Hutchison. She is survived by her brother, Robert Dowdy & wife; sisters, Magdalene Harris, Margaret Gearheart & husband, and Hazel Reed, all of Christiansburg; 6 children, Patricia Hutchison Atkins & husband, Cecil, of Blacksburg, Betty Hutchison Roop & husband, Bill of Christiansburg, Linda Cecil Lawrence of Radford, Haven (Bucky) Hutchison & wife, Eva of Dublin, Agnes Hutchison Wells & husband, Owen of Blacksburg, and Peggy Hutchison Landa of Christiansburg; 13 grandchildren, Tammy Doss, Barry Keith, Dean Keith, Chris Roop, Rodney Cecil, Mark Cecil, Brian Alls, Jenny Norton, Samantha Brumfield, Mike Hutchison, Tosha Soto, Kevin Bibbs, and Thomas Schucker; 19 great-grandchildren; and special friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 13, 2011, from 5-7 pm at Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. The graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2011, at 2 pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Tony Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christiansburg Fire Department, 110 Depot Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
