Susan Wilkerson

Susan E. Wilkerson (Burleson), 60, formerly of Northern Virginia, passed away in her home in Christiansburg on June 19, 2014, after having battled lung cancer for 11 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Burleson and her mother, Vera Nyder Burleson. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Marie Shelton; son-in-law, Bill Shelton; grandchildren, Katherine, Emily, Joseph, and Elizabeth Shelton, all of Blacksburg; as well as her dear friend, Lynn (Bucky) Florence.
Her love of books was only outmatched by her very generous heart.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. on Monday, June 23 at Murphy Funeral Home in Arlington. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Interment will follow the service in Columbia Gardens Cemetery.
