Sandra Holmes

HOLMES, SANDRA JEAN UNDERWOOD, age 47 of Blacksburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 9, 2004. Sandra graduated from Shawsville High School and National Business College; she was an employee for 15 years with Social Services and for the last 6 years with Virginia Tech.

Sandra was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Luther and Ora Lovern, paternal grandparents, James and Ethel Underwood; loving aunts, Peggy Glover and Gilbie Linkous.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years, Steve Holmes; twin sons, Eric and Alex; her parents, Frank and Eilleen Underwood; her dear brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Kittie Underwood; and special aunts, Lorraine St.Clair, Katie Kingrie, Ruby Underwood and Ofellia Underwood.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m.Thursday, Nov. 11, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Virgil McHone officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
