RAINES, Samuel Nixon, 82 of Elliston died Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at his home.
The son of the late Milllard and Mary Raines, he was also preceded in death by his wife; Gladys Richardson Raines.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law; Duke and Karen Raines and Kenny Raines all of Ironto. His grandchildren; Mary Fortune, Travis Raines, Karen Raines, Beth Raines, Johnny Dooley, Crystal Hannah and Austin Raines, Two sisters; Myrtle Cupp of Christiansburg and Virginia Reynolds of Newport. Seven Great Grandchildren also survive him.
Friends may call anytime after 12 Noon Wednesday, August 17, 2004 at The Horne Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday evening.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the Sessler Cemetery, Ironto with full military honors presented by The VFW Post 1184, Pulaski.
