Ruben Edward Hixon, 87 of Christiansburg, passed away on December 25, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Hixon and Mackie Moore Hixon; wife, Janice Hixon; siblings, Lucille Bateman, Hazel Taylor, Helen Sutherland, Dorothy Harvey, Barbara Jean Thompson, Ruby Wood, Melba Harris, William (Junior) Hixon, Samuel Hixon, Kenneth Hixon, Arnold Hixon, William (Bill) Hixon, and Charlie (Luck) Hixon. He is survived by his siblings, Erma Frierson, James Hixon, and David Hixon; children, Sandra H. Mosolgo and husband Gerald, Ruben Edward Hixon Jr. and wife Jan, and Craig Hixon and wife Vanessa; grandchildren, Sara Cole, Julie Hamill, Robert Mosolgo, Joe Wilcher, Matthew Wilcher, and Jordan Hixon; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tom Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service.
