Ronnie "LeRoy" Sheppard, 69, of Christiansburg, VA, died on February 6, 2011. He was born April 24, 1941, in Merrimac, Va.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dan and Sadie Sheppard, and his son, Ronald Sheppard.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years, Linda Sheppard. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Wes Fitzkee; granddaughters, Nichole Detchemendy and fiancé, Nathan May, Laken Detchemendy and her fiancé Capt. Derrick Anderson, Roni Leigh Sheppard, Allie and Courtney; great granddaughters Madison and Lilly Bell; great grandson Jody “Bubba”; 3 brothers Alvin, Skip and Emmitt, sister Rosetta, as well as their spouses; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lewis and Faye Albert.
LeRoy had many family and friends that loved him. LeRoy never met a stranger and as anyone that knew him would tell you “LeRoy was one of a kind”.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm, Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Horne Funeral Chapel, with Reverend Jube Burk. Interment will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
